After Drobo filed for bankruptcy in 2023 their website is no longer available. However as of April 2025 some files are still available for download and this is a backup for future reference and easier access.
WARNING: All files are untested backups directly loaded from the drobo-website. So use these at your own risk!
How to Download firmware from Drobo
If you prefer to load older firmware-versions directly from Drobo you can do so by using an URL with the following format:
https://files.drobo.com/webrelease/[MODELNAME]/Drobo[MODELNAME]_Firmware_[version number with - between digits].zip
For a Drobo 5D3 with firmware version 4.2.3 you would use this URL for example:
https://files.drobo.com/webrelease/5D3/Drobo5D3_Firmware_4-2-3.zip
The files are not always consistently named though. Some file names ended with 4.2.4.zip4-2-4.zip for example.
Drobo might also wipe the servers sometime in the future. That’s why I collected all files I could scrape from the Drobo website and put this list together. I hope this helps you! 🙂
